Corporate Accountant - 834776 Job Opening in Madison, Wisconsin - This well established and popular Madison construction company is looking for a skilled numbers person to provide support for the Company and its subsidiaries including, but not limited to general ledger accountability, financial reporting, and other projects as assigned.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepares, analyzes and interprets various financial reports. Assists with monthly closing process.
Assists in the preparation of annual budgets, the annual financial audit and tax reporting.
Prepares workpapers and supporting schedules for audits of Company contracts performed by customers or third-party firms.
Recommends improvements to financial procedures and systems to Department Managers. Implements written procedural and system changes as approved.
Acts as backup resource for various accounting positions as needed and acts as liaison with external auditors.
Assists with entry of payroll data into payroll system for assigned groups.
Prepares a variety of special and recurring reports, some of which are confidential. Conducts required research and interpretation of data with little supervision or instruction.
Prepares additional corporate filing requirements as assigned.
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining Company?s credit rating as reported by third parties.
Prepares general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations.
Process and record cash receipts.
Performs additional assignments as directed by Supervisor.
Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree in accounting.
Ability to deliver accurate reports and meet expected timelines.
Highly developed analytical organizational and communication skills
Proficient in use of accounting and spreadsheet software applications.
CPA designation is preferred.
Ability to be flexible and to function as a part of a team
Occasional travel required.
