Job purpose
The Sales Account Manager is the lead role for managing, building rapport with and supporting sales teams and key clients. Each client will use the Sales Account Manager as point of contact for communication of industry changes, to assist in solving current issues and deliver exceptional follow up. The Sales Account Manager will sometimes be required to travel to client locations for training and presentations.
Duties and responsibilities
Build, develop and cultivate long term relationships with management within each sales team and key client groups.
Able to set timelines, priorities, handle multiple tasks, and solve complex problems.
Create communication schedule and scheduled routine account calls.
Lead cross-functional collaboration within organization to solve complex issues.
Identify current marketing material needs and create solutions with Director of Marketing.
Efficient in PowerPoint and presentation delivery.
Proficient in managing multiple projects while preserving attention to details.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education :
Required: Bachelor?s Degree in a related field of study
Preferred: Advanced Degree
Years and Type of Experience Required:
Five years of progressively responsible experience working at or with Pharmacy Benefits Management, Health Plan, managing large clients or Pharmacy Services Administrative Organization.
Preferred:
Health care, retail pharmacy or managed care experience
Specific Technical Skills: Required:
Extensive knowledge of current and developing technology solutions to include:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
Other: Required:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Presentation preparation and delivery
Ability to complete multiple projects and meet deadlines
Preferred:
Broad knowledge of PSAO operations and managed care pharmacy contracting.
Working conditions
The Sales Account Manager operates in a professional office environment. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, telephones, copier, facsimile and scanner. Regular travel to and from meetings will be required, including air travel 10% of the time.
