Advertising Finance Specialist Job Opening in Omaha, Nebraska - JOB SUMMARY:
The Advertising Finance Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting in planning and coordinating the division budget, monitoring expenses and capital expenditures,tracking revenue and computing commissions, and to provide analytical support for pricing and profitability of new and existing products and primarily services. Additional responsibilities include tracking attendance and vacation eligibility for department personnel and taking whatever action is needed to keep the office running smoothly.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Coordinateand help plan yearly budget for the Advertising Division as well as five yearplan.
Coordinateand maintain database to track the paying of advertising expenses in accordancewith the yearly budget to insure invoices are valid, submitted in the budgetedmonth, and charged to the proper account. Provide monthly variance report on expenses.
Researchand provide answers to Advertising VP for variances to the planned budget.
Examineexisting products and services to determine profitability and maintainAdvertising profitability study.
Assistin identifying areas to increase profitability and improve Work with Industry data toidentify opportunities.
Issueand track purchase orders for office equipment and supplies needed by thedepartment.
Research,get bids, and order major purchases for the department as directed by theAdvertising Director.
and repairs of Advertising Division offices and equipment. Insure that all critical components are onhand and operational. Be aware of futureequipment needs for planning purposes.
Maintaindatabases for tracking revenue and commissions to assure that proper amountsare paid in accordance with the salesperson?s contract. Prepare monthly payment memos and submit topayroll.
Process and verify all expensereports.
Track attendance and vacation time forAdvertising Division. Submit attendancerecords to the Accounting Department.
Coordinate expense reports with salesmanagers to insure proper documentation is provided and they are completedproperly and accurately. Insure thatthey are submitted to the Accounting Department in a timely manner.
Create and maintain databases fortracking various Advertising Department activities and expenses and providereports on same to department managers.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Thoroughknowledge of Windows, Word and Excel as well as accounting system operations.
Ableto develop Excel spreadsheets and work with pivot tables to compute data andtrack information.
Abilityto manage projects in order to meet deadlines and ensure the highest quality ismaintained.
Abilityto maintain confidentiality.
Abilityto use good situational judgment in dealing with employees, customers or otherbusiness contacts.
Abilityto read, comprehend, and understand written and/or verbal instructions.
Knowledgeof accounting principles and terminology.
Skillin math basics and accounting procedures.
Abilityto produce accurate work.
Knowledge of product pricing andpurchasing principles and techniques.
Skill in analyzing statistical trends,pricing, and profitability.
Ability to communicate verbally in aprofessional manner with co-workers, shareholders, visitors, and

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor?s degree in accounting, finance or business administration or equivalent experience.
1-2 years experience with analyzing financial statements preferred
