Education Programs Assistant Job Opening in Minneapolis, Minnesota - The Walker Art Center is seeking a stellar Education Programs Assistant who will be responsible for taking bookings for school tours and other programs, track invoices and communications with teachers and other external contacts, internal scheduling, processing of tour payments, and maintenance and administration of the ArtLab and Education Study space including ordering materials, organizing inventory and equipment, keeping the space clean and free of clutter.
Responsibilities include:
Take bookings by phone, web and email for all education excursions and input into relevant databases and scheduling applications.
Ensure group education experiences best fit their needs including: suggesting appropriate exhibitions, themes, and education offerings; identify additional tour group needs or accessibility accommodations; work closely with Educators to communicate group interests and requests.
Communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficacy and safety of tours and other programs. Key stakeholders include: Frontline staff, Chief Guard and Building Operations, tour recipients such as schools and community groups, Registrars, Education and Public Programs team.
Coordinate Walker?s tour and ArtLab schedules communicating conflicts and other issues to the Education Programs Coordinator.
Ensure consistency of tour and workshop scheduling information within the Walker?s building-wide program database.
Maintain tracking documents including shift tracking for educators, program and contact records databases, tour and workshop visitation, receipts and accounting files.
Keep ArtLab and EPP Study clean and organized, proactively setting up for workshops, packing down and cleaning at workshop end; upkeep of inventory of supplies including purchases and digital records of inventory.
Demonstrate a high level of customer service when dealing with teachers, community contacts, students and members of the public.
Assist in conducting evaluation for ArtLabs and workshops, recording feedback on the Walker server.
Desired Experience:
Excellent customer service skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
Proactive approach to problem solving in a fast paced environment.
Ability to use a range of software including Outlook email, Microsoft Office, Artifax (building scheduling software) and Tessitura (CRM software).
Broad knowledge of art, art materials, and art-making techniques.
Demonstrated rapport working with visitors from a range of backgrounds including children, teachers, and adults.
Dependable, organized, and collaborate well with others.
Schedule and Compensation:
Full-time, Non-exempt; $13.50/hour; willing and available to work between the hours of 8?4pm weekdays.
