Sample Coordinator/Courier Job Opening in Stayton, Oregon - NORPAC Foods, Inc., a farmer-owned cooperative founded in 1924, processes frozen vegetables and fruit, along with canning vegetables. Headquartered in Salem, Oregon, NORPAC is Oregon?s largest fruit and vegetable processor and has 3 processing facilities in the Willamette Valley, along with a subsidiary Hermiston Foods, LLC in Hermiston, Oregon and a subsidiary Quincy Foods, LLC in Quincy, Washington. NORPAC and its subsidiaries employ 1,500 full-time employees year round and 2,500 seasonal employees during the processing season.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITY: Review sample requests, order, pick up and prepare and ship samples as directed. Complete all documents required to keep accurate records of sample shipments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processes sample requests submitted by various departments (Sales, R&D, QA, and others) for NORPAC. Samples are shipped all over the US and international sites. This position is responsible for ordering product for these requests, packaging the product, and filling out all required paperwork for shipment.
Tracks deliveries as needed and communicates shipping problems with those people generating the requests.
Resolves sample delivery problems with the shipping companies.
Personally delivers samples to various laboratories, photography studios, and regional companies as requested.
Orders and maintains sample inventories, packaging supplies, and shipping ice supplies.
Orders and delivers bulk product, and retail samples to various departments as requested.
Maintains the van used for sampling.
Works with NORPAC?s billing, accounting and inventory departments on charges and inventory balance related to sample requests.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent skill and experience.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Excellent driving record. Valid driver?s license.
Good mathematic and reasoning skills.
Ability to work with minimum supervision; must be self-motivated.
Ability to work with various computer programs.
Ability to lift up to 65 pounds occasionally.
All new employee hiring is contingent upon passing a drug screen.
HOURS: Full-time. Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Overtime and weekends as required.
