Qualifications:
Qualified Health Professional
Bachelor?s Degree required, Master?s Degree preferred
Two years chemical dependency counseling experience & experience working with families preferred
Equivalent alternative combination of education and experience will be considered
Must demonstrate steady progress towards Qualified Health Professional status if not currently QHP
Knowledge of addiction/recovery, self-help group process and principles of counseling
Thorough knowledge of community family resources
Ability to relate effectively with staff, clients & professional community Knowledge of supervision process
Excellent oral and written communication skills Sound judgment and cultural competency
Proficiency with basic computer applications Ability to perform duties independently
Job Description:
The Clinical Assessor will perform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake and orientation, assessment, evaluation and intervention, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, reporting and record keeping. Will assist with the training of staff, volunteers and student interns as assigned. You may participate in program, administrative and clinical committees as assigned. SBH offers training and education through our Training Institute certified by New York State OASAS.
