Financial Analyst Job Opening in Bastrop, Louisiana - Morehouse General Hospital seeks a Financial Analyst to coordinate many aspects of Finance and Accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting mid-level to complex financial analyses, work closely the A/R and A/P department while working closely with management to help make critical decisions, highly detail-oriented and capable of analyzing data with creativity and innovation in mind.

Expected to perform the following, but not limited to:
Improve financial status by researching and analyzing hospital information and results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management; all while helping the hospital make well informed decisions
Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data
Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data
Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Complete daily cash reconciliations; A/P reconciliations; daily flash and forecast; and monthly reporting and report production
Assist A/P with invoice posting to proper accounts (expense, prepaid, etc.) and to proper month (understanding of GAAP)
Assist and provide as a back up to Payroll as needed
Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance projects as assigned by Management
Requirements:
Bachelor of Business Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree in Healthcare
Preferred experience as a financial analyst
Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging, fast paced environment
Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude
Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems
