Student Accounts Exit Specialist ($17.00-$20.83/hr) Job Opening in Reno, Nevada - The Student Accounts Exit Specialist reports to the Student Accounts Lead and is responsible for accurate and timely reconciliation of student accounts upon the students exit from college. The SAES will process Return to Title IV calculations, Pre Grad Clearance review, student stipends and refunds, 1098Ts and ensure that the company is in compliance with federal requirements.
The Student Accounts Exit Specialist (SAES) reports to the Student Accounts Lead.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify exiting students and process tuition refund calculations (if applicable) and return to Title IV (R2T4) calculations to ensure timely and accurate compliance with Federal Regulations
Complete a full account review for students who are scheduled to Graduate
Manage and clear credit balances per Federal Regulations
Process refunds as needed
Process 1098Ts annually
Auditing of student files
Maintain current knowledge of related Title IV and other applicable regulations by attending conferences and reviewing regulatory changes to assist Student Accounts Lead in evaluating changes/assessing impact to the company and implementing appropriate policy or procedural changes to ensure compliance
Provide campus staff with guidance and support in understanding the requirements in the areas of Student Accounts
Assist in preparation for and completion of annual federal financial aid audits
Other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Two year related experience working with reconciling accounts of exiting students; or equivalent combination of training / education and experience required.
Honed skills in Microsoft office software applications required.
Related industry experience in federal student aid delivery required.
Refined project oversight, organization, and communication skills required.
Ability to work independently and in team environment required.
Ability to work with various positions at the campus level to ensure that the campuses are following guidelines and meeting deadlines required.
Detail oriented with excellent follow up skills required.
Experience with CampusVue student management software preferred.
Previous auditing experience preferred.
Ideal characteristics include positive attitude, proactive approach, and forward thinking.
COMPENSATION
Hourly Non-Exempt Position
$17.00 - $20.83/hr
Compensation dependent on experience, knowledge and education level
