Accounting Manager Job Opening in Suffield, Connecticut - Summary/Objective
This position is responsible for all areas related to the daily management of the Accounting Department. This position will be responsible for the developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and regulatory reporting.
Essential Functions
Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, year-end close and consolidation of financial statements.
Reconciles assigned general ledger accounts and ensures they are properly and timely reconciled in accordance with the Bank?s policies and procedures.
Manages various general ledger sub-systems including investments, prepaids/fixed assets, and accounts payable.
Prepares monthly reports for ALCO and BOD meetings.
Coordinates the management of the Bank?s liquid assets to ensure adequate liquidity.
Preparation and timely filing of Bank Regulator reports, including, but not limited to the Call Report and other regulator reports as deemed necessary.
Assists with internal and external audits as needed.
Maintains records of investment transactions in accordance with the Bank?s policies and procedures.
Remits quarterly state and federal tax estimates.
Assists the Chief Financial Officer with the annual budget process.
Performs other related duties as required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
No overnight travel is expected for this position. Local travel to attend various training or seminars is required.
Education
Bachelors of Science in business or accounting.
Experience
Three to five years progressive accounting experience in a banking environment.

All employees are subject to the requirements of The First National Bank of Suffield?s (?FNBS?) BSA Program. An employee?s role with FNBS determines which parts of the program apply. However, all employees are responsible for reporting suspicious activity identified in the course of their work, and all employees are responsible for the timely completion of mandatory compliance training assigned, such as BSA and OFAC.
