MUST HAVE ONE YEAR PASTRY EXPERIENCE. An ongoing commitment to innovative cuisine using only the freshest local produce makes NINE-TEN a must visit for culinary aficionados. This intimate restaurant, led by award-winning chef Jason Knibb (a 2010 Rising Star Chef winner) and pastry chef Jack Fisher, offers the perfect combination of sophistication and casual elegance and an ideal location along La Jolla�s Prospect Street. Enjoy the best of the harvest from local artisan farmers, where produce is selected daily for the restaurant�s Evolving California Cuisine, recognized with an extraordinary to perfection rating by ZAGAT. The bounty of the sea is also featured with local fish selections and items arriving daily from Hawaii and the North Pacific and Atlantic regions. The NINE-TEN is currently seeking an energetic Pastry Cook to join our team. Since, our menu is frequently changing, we are looking for the right candidate who can adapt and excel no matter what the menu has on it today. This position is Friday thru Tuesday, 2:30 p.m. until close. The right candidate will be available these hours and have the flexibility to adjust work days and/or hours as needed. Our pastry production includes: lunch & dinner desserts, breads & pasta, chocolates, plus hotel banquet desserts. The right candidate will be highly organized, efficient, passionate, punctual, have a positive attitude. They will have extreme focus on a clean work environment as maintenance of the cleanliness of the pastry kitchen is one of their primary responsibilities. The ability to multi task and consistent punctuality are required in our pastry kitchen. Dependability and flexibility are a MUST in NINE-TEN's fine dining environment. MUST HAVE PASTRY EXPERIENCE. Previous culinary school training is not required. The right applicant must be able to lift 40 lbs. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required. Must be able to effectively communicate in spoken and written English. The right candidate will be available to work weekends (and holidays as needed).
