As a Produce Associate you will perform a variety of tasks and be responsible for assisting the Produce Department maintain Hannaford's high quality standards. Hannaford is looking for an individual who is dedicated to providing excellent customer service, has a positive attitude and who can be flexible with work hours.
Assist customers with selection of product and provide excellent customer service. Treat all co-workers and customers with fairness, dignity and respect.
Identify, wrap, price, weigh and stock fresh, cut fruit items using proper rotation standards and procedures as outlined by company policy.
Perform cleaning functions of all cases, wrap stations, scale equipment, cooler, dis-assembling and re-assembling equipment.
Support company safety, sanitation and food safety standards. Report and communicate effectively all maintenance deficiencies, cleaning projects and safety concerns with management.
Develop product knowledge in areas of the Produce department and comply with company policies.
Shift differentials are paid for various shifts.
Requirements:
Must meet minimum age requirements.
Must meet physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Assist in special projects, training associates and other functions as assigned by supervisor.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
Must have the ability to lift cases or packages of fresh produce products up to 40lbs. frequently and 100 lb. on occasion.
Must have the ability to stand or walk 100% of the time while working in cooler temperatures.
Must work as a member of a team as well as independently.
Perform repetitive grasping, twisting, bending, reaching and hand/arm motions as the product is identified, wrapped, priced and weighed.
Handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packaging materials and meat products.
