Job Responsibilities
The qualified candidate will:
Contribute and grow skills, developing Java-based software following the Agile methodology: pair-programming, test-driven environment, continuous integration, focus on feedback and more.
Develop core enterprise applications in a collocated team environment, collaborating with business analysts and quality assurance testers.
Participate in an Agile extreme programming environment.
Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including problem analysis and project estimation as well as designing systems and coding to department standards.
Ensure development and security standards are met, along with accurate documentation.
Stay current with technologies, which include Java (Groovy), front-end development and test automation.
Be willing to learn and take direction from team members for best practices and standards.
Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have:
Two or more years programming experience beyond formal education with heavy concentration in languages on the Java Virtual Machine, such as Java, Groovy or Scala.
A college degree (four-year degree preferred).
Excellent soft skills with the ability to work and communicate with fellow team members.
Working knowledge of database structures and concepts.
Understanding of object oriented development.
Knowledge of Spring, Hibernate, Java Message Service and Tomcat preferred.
Knowledge of SQL, HTML, CSS, XML and JavaScript preferred.
Experience with frameworks like JUnit and Fitnesse and mocking libraries such as mockito, jmock or gmock is preferred.
