Software Engineer Job Opening in Milwaukee, Wisconsin - SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the Software Engineer is responsible for evaluating product design concepts, development of software concepts and generating final software output. This position supports the activities of both engineering and some
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Conceptualize and presentation of ideas for potential solutions to electronic product designs.
Strong understanding of C/C++in a TDD environment.
Understand engineering documentation and specifications to generate software designs using various tools.
Direct interaction with customers, suppliers and tool manufacturers.
Work in a product design team environment.
Responsible for project time and product cost controls for the software portion of the project.
Strong communication skills.
Maintaining engineering documentation including the generation and implementation of changes.
Participation in the transition of new products to the production New Products Introduction team.
Understanding in using Data Entry, Microsoft Word and Excel.
DESIRED CAPABILITIES & EXPERIENCE
Experience in embedded software design would be helpful.
Knowledge of version control systems such as Git and Mercurial.
Understanding of Python, C# and Rust desired.
Minimum (1) year of design experience.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor?s degree in software design related technology or equivalent job experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to conceptually understand numbers, their relationships, combinations and operations to solve design problems. This includes shapes, structure, measurement, patterns and reasoning.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
