National Sales Director -- Natural Channel Job Opening in Lynn, Massachusetts - Responsible to formulate and implement sales growth strategies for segments of Kettle Cuisine?s retail and contract divisions and the leadership and management of the relevant support staff. Directors are accountable to meet and exceed the agreed sales and profit objectives. The position will develop short and long-range plans and programs including actively pursuing partnerships with targeted retailers, deepening relationships with current customers, maximizing our distributor partnerships and guiding and managing a network of sales brokers where utilized.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primarily a field based role managing existing accounts and pursuing new opportunities with targeted retailers. Time on the road is expected to be up to 70% and occasional weekends for shows or conferences.
Key Responsibilities:
? Manage and motivate sales support staff
o Strong leadership and management of the sales support staff
o Ensure training needs and personal development plans are developed and actioned
? Directly manage and grow customer accounts in the region.
o Establishment of goals, daily management and overall direction for these accounts.
o Achieve sales and profit objectives successfully through individual sales efforts on the directly assigned accounts.
o Deliver strong year over year volume growth
o Maintain a robust and focused pipeline and report on progress monthly
o Forecast annual sales growth and budget all necessary spending
o Serve as a trusted soup category specialist resource to the food retailer community
o Offer guidance and training as needed to distributors, brokers and end retailer where appropriate
o Conduct annual performance reviews and annual objective/goals with all brokers/ distributors.
o Maintain effective written and oral communications with customers
o Negotiate marketing programs with assigned accounts to meet volume objectives within profit objectives.
o Gather customer complaint information, initiate corrective actions and coordinate communication
o For each broker partner, establish clear growth objectives, build specific and actionable plans, provide necessary support and training, oversee quarterly business reviews and evaluate the performance
o Utilize all company sales systems and data and adhere to all company requirements in regard to necessary reports and information.
? Create a detailed market growth strategy outlining areas of focus and tactics to be used to ensure success
o Strategically identify and secure business at Regional Chains and Large End Users to Drive business through distribution
o Maintain a robust yet focused pipeline of target accounts and report on progress monthly
o Maintain strong relationships with distributor partners to uncover new leads and better serve customers
? Maintain the highest possible level of personal and business credibility in carrying out the overall objectives of the company.
? Propose thoughtful marketing and promotional programs that will drive specific growth objectives
o Actively seek and summarize market insights that will help guide smarter corporate decision making
o Collaborate with other sales team colleagues and R&D team to ensure successful development of new products, operator services and sales support tools

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
? Minimum of ten years of experience in direct sales, marketing or culinary sales in the food industry
? Demonstrated excellence in driving consistently strong profitable sales growth
? Track record of successfully managing a sales team and developing team members to excel
? Experienced working with large retailers as well as smaller specialty retailers
? Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
? Strong Microsoft Office skills and ideally knowledge of CRM systems, EPM data
? Financial and business acumen
