Assistant Director of Patient Financial Services Job Opening in Allentown, Pennsylvania - Job Summary: Assists and acts as a liaison to the Director of Patient Financial Services by administering and coordinating the revenue cycle functions that contribute to the capture, management, and collection of patient service revenue. Responsible for enhancing and maintaining properly functioning revenue cycle processes through a cross-department organizational structure from through clinical services to billing third party payers and patients. Coordinates the work activity related to the inpatient admissions, outpatient registrars, receptionists and patient accounts. Oversees the process of patient accessibility to services and coordinates patient needs to receive medical care. Manages the registration & billing for the medical care provided to patients and/or residents by overseeing the submission of claims electronically or by paper to either them or their designated third party payer. Maintains Accounts Receivables by assigning the appropriate staff to follow-up with patients, residents, insurance companies, and other third party payers. Manages the posting of collection notes, payments, and adjustments by establishing the appropriate codes and provides training in the use of the Hospital's or Nursing Homes' Computer System. Oversees the Organization's Charity Care Program.
Minimum Education Requirements: Master's degree in administration or related field with 5 years equivalent experience OR 10 years of related experience (in lieu of Master's degree).
Minimum Experience Requirements: Five or more years of experience in a hospital Patient Accounts department and 5 or more years of experience in rehabilitation healthcare billing required. Cerner experience required
Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of post-acute care revenue cycle operations with particular knowledge related to rehab facilities; long term acute care hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. Good analytical skills and experience with post-acute care hospital systems.
