We are seeking a Staff Accountant to oversee the accounting for a portfolio of properties. This is an hourly position working with a team of other staff accountants each with their own portfolio of properties. Previous experience working in hotel operations or working in a hotel accounting environment or property management environment is highly desirable. Must have experience preparing financial statements including cash flow statements. Occasional overtime may be necessary during the monthly closing process. Job Duties ? Prepare financial statements and provide analysis and interpretation of financial data. ? Reconcile complex bank accounts. ? Use remote scanner to make deposits plus occasional bank runs. ? Perform monthly G/L account reconciliations. ? Assist in processing payroll for each property. ? Prepare and review general ledgers. ? Initiate or respond to calls and other inquiries regarding accounting or financial matters. ? Initiate requests and collect data and reports for month-end close. ? Prepare monthly bed and sales tax returns. ? Prepare month-end journal entries. ? Provide other administrative support to the department as needed to include work on special projects. Required Qualifications ? BS Degree in Accounting. ? Minimum 3 years experience in accounting. ? Excellent interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication skills. ? Ability to work effectively and accurately under tight deadlines. ? Must be highly skilled at multi-tasking and be very organized. ? Intermediate level proficiency in Excel. ? Must work well in team environment and present a professional demeanor. ? MAS 90/200/500 experience preferred but not required.
