Vice President of Sales Job Opening in Trenton, New jersey - Title: Vice President of Sales
Reports to: President & CEO
The MIDJersey Chamber of Commerce is seeking a qualified sales professional to drive sponsorships, digital and magazine advertising. The ideal candidate is someone who has a minimum of five years of sales experience is goal oriented, highly motivated with an aggressive sales approach to increase revenues.
The MIDJersey Chamber of Commerce is a regional business membership organization that will be celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2018. Established in 1868, the MIDJersey Chamber of Commerce is the first chamber of commerce in New Jersey. From small businesses to large enterprises, the MIDJersey Chamber is more than 1,000 members strong.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sell sponsorships, digital and magazine advertising
Develop leads and maintain an active prospect list
Achieve and surpass quotas and goals
Identify and solicit new revenue sources for the Chamber
On-going and routine member contact to demonstrate value of Chamber membership
Participate/attend events to interact with members and potential members, as an opportunity to grow membership and sponsorships in order to generate new revenue
Act as staff liaison to committees/chapters and maintain good relations to promote membership and engagement
Other duties as assigned by the President & CEO
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to generate own leads; find decision maker within organization
Strong communications, networking and relationship building skills
Possess proficient writing skills and strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objective without supervision
Ability to think creatively and be solution driven
Develop and maintain working relationships with chamber staff, volunteers and outside organizations
Deliver outstanding customer service
Must have a valid drivers license and maintain own transportation with full insurance coverage
Credentials and Experience
Minimum 5 years of sales experience
Demonstrated record of recent success selling
Proven experience prospecting and generating leads
Proven ability to exceed goals
Highly effective communication skills
Proposal experience, strong business writing skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
