Cash Applications Specialist - Accountant I Job Opening in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania - We are seeking an Accountant I / Cash Application Specialist for our client in Swiftwater, PA.
This position is responsible for cash application through SAP. This process includes lockbox payments, credit cards, ACH?s and Check by Phone. Maintaining the integrity of the process and ensuring that all payments are properly recorded is essential. Items not correctly posted could impact the delivery of the customer?s products until resolved.
The expectation is for the analyst to complete 5 to 7 cash batches per day. This entails assigning a SAP cash batch out of the cash application server and logging into the banks application. Review the SAP batch report looking for unprocessed items, payments on account or residuals. Research these items and determine what the customer was trying to pay and logging the results into the spreadsheet on the server. Analyst may need to contact customer or access customer web site to resolve issues or obtain payment details.
On a regular basis, work on customer accounts offsetting their debit with credit memos. This may include credits generated by the return function which need to be offset against an open invoice. The supporting documentation will tell the analyst what should be offset.
Incumbent must have ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced environment, be organized, detailed and process oriented, and have positive attitude.
Required Skills:
Previous cash application experience
SAP Knowledge
Strong excel skills is a must (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPS, etc.)
Education: BS in Accounting or Finance is preferred
