THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our client seeks an experienced Controller to lead their growing accounting team to work a full time, flex-time schedule. To be a great fit, top candidates will thrive in a fast-paced mid-size business setting, and will enjoy working with the CFO and CEO on business planning, forecasting, budgeting and analysis. You will also be effective in working with Partners and project managers to increase their financial understanding, and enjoy training and coaching your team of accounting professionals. The ideal candidate will be high energy and enjoy touching the full cycle, including financial reporting, cash management, AR, AP, general ledger, fixed assets and payroll. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the CFO & CEO with business planning, forecasting, budgeting and analysis.
Manage the FP&A process, including preparation of financial statements, management reports, and cash management.
Support leadership team in maintaining banking and other financial relationships.
Maintain stable cash flow management and monitor cash resources for daily operations and shareholder distributions.
Oversight and guidance of the accounting department including billing and collections , exempt and non-exempt payroll, and the Profit Sharing Trust and 401(k) Plan.
Year-end account analysis and coordination with external auditors for tax return preparation.
Reconcile fixed asset records, prepare property tax declaration schedule
Generate quarterly payments for shareholder distributions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Solid working knowledge of GAAP, managerial finance, budgeting principles and financial analysis
Demonstrated success in creating and refining management reports and performance measures
Exceptional people skills and experience managing a team of people
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in various accounting software systems
Self-starter who can problem solve, with solid decision-making skills
Diligent with a high attention to detail and adept at multi-tasking in a fast paced environment
Interact effectively with external clients and internal customers with equal aplomb
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting experience
Background in working with a professional services firm, such as consulting, law, accounting, architecture or similar
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA a plus
