Financial Aid Officer Job Opening in Aurora, Colorado - Responsibilities: The successful candidate will assist in processing financial aid (Federal Pell/SEOG, Private Loans, Federal Direct Loans, Federal Perkins Loans, etc.) to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in accordance with federal regulations. The successful candidate will assist in managing awards and disbursement for potential applicants and currently enrolled students and assists in advising students about their ethical financial responsibilities.
Skills and Qualifications of the position include:
Helps to administers college financial aid policies, office procedures and funding programs.
Conducts qualifying interviews with students to determine the necessities of the application process.
Assists students in the timely completion of the FASFA on the Web.
Utilizes the Student Tracking Form to track the application process.
Assists in applying for additional non Title IV funds.
Analyzes need and prepare award packages, ensure that awards do not exceed calculated need as demonstrated on the Budget/Packaging form.
Makes satisfactory arrangements with students for any calculated unfunded balance.
Audits ISIRs for correct application information.
Completes timely verification on selected ISIRs.
Clears any "C" Comment Codes on all selected ISIRs.
Ensures the crossover award year packaging is completed.
Ensures that students awarded Federal Direct Student Loan Funds have Entrance Counseling performed and completion of MPN.
Enters, edits and updates student scheduled aid in Platt College Nexus systems.
Assists in conducting exit interviews with all graduating and LOA students, and withdrawing students.
Maintains of Student FA Files in both hard copy and electronic formats according to policies.
Assists in the collections of unfunded balance payments.
Assists in yearly compliance audit and in program reviews.
Additional duties as required.
Additional Qualifications Requirements:
Knowledge of federal, state, institutional and local sources of financial aid.
Knowledge of finance, accounting, and management and computer services.
Knowledge of institutional organization, policies, procedures, and administrative practices generally used in higher education.
Knowledge of federal regulations and new developments in Title IV programs.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff members.
One year of direct experience in the delivery of need & merit-based federal, state, private& institutional financial A proven record in working successfully with diverse populations
Bachelor's degree required.
