Morse Data Corporation, a software development company since 1975, is seeking motivated and quick learning individuals to provide support to our clients on our InOrder software package.
The ideal candidate will have experience using or supporting a warehouse management and/or order management software. You?ll be troubleshooting and helping clients use and implement an enterprise management system, so it?s important to be able understand and communicate their business needs with the Morse Data Development Team.
Advanced computer skills and an understanding of databases is helpful, but most importantly, candidates absolutely must be able to learn through independent exploration and testing in a controlled environment. Analytical thinking and the ability to solve problems are key attributes for this position. Candidates must be able to handle multiple priorities, and be willing to occasionally travel for onsite support training and implementations.
The successful support candidate will have the following outstanding skills:
Customer communications (oral and written), as well as being personable and comfortable speaking in front of an audience of 1-20 people (typically 5-10)
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills including:
Patient trial and error troubleshooting
Methodical deductive reasoning
Strong intuition and the ability to judge the urgency of client issues
Understanding a client?s business, their procedures, and how an issue impacts a business * Patience in dealing with challenges and difficult situations
Basic understanding of other varied computing concepts including, but not limited to:
Software installation programs
Version control
Enhancement requests
Bug tracking tools
Software Testing
Ability to translate client issues for escalation to debugging and/or development
Ability to communicate and present information to clients on varying technical levels
Familiarity with training clients on modules and processes via web meetings and/or phone
Experience with the following is a plus: Crystal Reports, InOrder, Ecometry, NetSuite, Mail Order Manager, or similar order processing software, order entry, warehouse management, fulfillment and catalog industries, understanding of accounting practices, understanding of code and programming languages (especially SQL), and knowledge of data exploration through database queries
In addition to supporting clients via phone, email, web meetings, and the occasional on site visit, responsibilities include:
Maintaining a thorough knowledge of InOrder software, including new development
Analyzing incoming questions and issues through independently monitoring your queue
Complete follow through of issue resolution including, but not limited to:
Reproducing test cases
Thoroughly documenting research and findings
Escalating for issue resolution
Developing a best practices workaround until a resolution is available
Determining if data has been impacted, and course of corrective action needed
Client updates on status of issue
Testing of solutions and delivery of solutions * Providing support and training based on client customizations and standard operating procedures
Informing teams of high impact issues
Occasional onsite support or training ? 10%
