Currently we are sourcing for a talented Plant Controller to provide managerial and financial oversight at a plant level working with Operations on costing, budgeting, and capital projects as well as directing financial activities for the site. This position is based out of our Buffalo NY location while also supporting our Austin TX location and includes managerial responsibilities of 4 direct reports, multi-site, within the Accounting department. Additional responsibilities include:
Directs activities as related to AP, AR, Collections, General Ledger and Cash Management
Facilitates and coordinates intercompany activities and accounting as needed
Works with operations to identify and track key metrics to drive operational performance
Develops standard costs and cost models to help drive business decision
Recommends modifications to existing corporate programs to increase effectiveness and enhance internal controls.
Implements systems, policies and procedures that enable the company to better manage performance, reporting and internal controls.
Ensures books are closed on a timely monthly basis and reports results in a timely manner. Ensures that reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis and that all financial results are booked in accordance with GAAP principals.
Prepares reports and analysis which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and projected operations. Explains variances in performance.
Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
Manages company assets to ensure proper classifications and control.
Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
Facilitates and coordinates information regarding year-end audit and tax preparation. Ensures that policies and procedures are in place to be as effective and efficient as possible.
Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
Establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions as needed.
Completes presentations & analysis for management use.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.
At least 5 years of relevant work experience to include supervisory experience in a manufacturing profit center environment
Proven management-level skills in financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and inventory valuation, with strong track record of accurate and timely financial reporting
