Reports to : Chief Executive Officer Supervises: Staff of 3+ The chief financial officer position is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the organization. These include but are not limited to the maintenance and monitoring of our financial strategy, metrics tied to strategy, the monitoring and maintenance of control systems designed to preserve organizational assets and report accurate financial results, oversight of audit, and the overall management of the finance department. An ability to work with a diverse group of people to support the mission and program of LSE Principal responsibilities include : Planning Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans as assigned Develop financial and investment strategies In cooperation with the CEO and Director of Client Services, create and manage the capital and financial budgeting processes Attend all board meetings and participate with the senior management team in the strategic planning process Work as part of the senior management team in cooperation with CEO and Director of Client Services Operations Oversee the financial operations of all programs Initiate, implement financial internal controls for finance depart as needed Oversee the company's transaction processing systems Oversee human resources and employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package Financial Information Oversee the issuance of financial information Personally review and approve all forms and filings with the IRS and funding sources Report financial results to CEO and Board of Directors as requested Work with management team to develop and write grant applications to funding agencies Manage and assist CEO with various fundraising efforts Risk Management Monitor and maintain reliable control systems Maintain appropriate insurance coverage Ensure the organization complies with all legal and regulatory requirements Ensure record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies Report risk issues to the CEO Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendation All other duties as they pertain to the proper execution of this role. This job is full time/exempt. Normal office hours are from 8:30 to 4:00 p.m, with additional hours as needed to complete tasks or projects. This position requires the ability to work in a fast paced, productive environment with the ability to multi task and prioritize projects. Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in accounting, finance or business administration CPA preferred or minimum 5 years previous work experience, and minimum 2 years management experience Must have a high level of written and oral communication skills. Ability to learn and train others in various accounting software programs Must have a high level of skill using Excel, Word, Power Point programs Promote team player concept by performing and completing other duties and tasks as directed by CEO, including assignments unrelated to Finance Preferred Qualifications: Experience with and developing and maintaining financial relationship with MD?s Developmental Disability Administration and other State and Federal agencies as required Experience working with Crystal, MITC, SAGE software Job Type: Full-time Salary: $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 /year
