Financial Operations Analyst Job Opening in Baltimore, Maryland - Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide operational and financial analysis/ reporting of reimbursement and clinical operations.
Position Objectives:
The objective of this position is to perform operational and financial analysis and reporting on reimbursement and clinical operations. Specifically to:
Collecting and assisting in the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data on health care fee schedules.
Incorporating results of statistical and qualitative analyses utilizing Microsoft Excel, Business Objects, Word, Access, and Power Point.
Applying concepts and tools of health care economics to enhance understanding of utilization, cost trends, quality, and performance patterns across health care networks.
Develop financial and statistical reporting to use in analysis, forecasting, tracking, and trending of reimbursement operation activities.
Work with and maintain databases for operational metrics to track and analyze key business indicators relative to reimbursement and clinical operations.
Prepare routine, ad-hoc reimbursement and clinical operations analysis and reporting for leadership.
On a proactive basis, provide value added reports and analysis to support business decision making, provide business intelligence, improve cost effectiveness, and provide financial direction for executive leadership.
Assist with special projects related to reimbursement operations performance, benchmarking and variance analysis.
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Preferred Accounting/Finance degree with related work experience.
Healthcare experience a plus with general understanding of healthcare analytics, payer/provider relationship, etc.
Excellent Excel Skills used specifically for financial modeling and forecasting (VLookups, Pivot Tables, SumIfs, Graphs, embedded formulas).
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, detail oriented, and organized.
Ability to work independently, with minimal direction when necessary in order to support group objectives. Strong initiative is vital for success.
