Staff Accountant Job Opening in Fort Lauderdale, Florida - The staff accountant position is accountable for the overall financial health and the day-to-day accounting function of office operations. The staff accountant position supports the financial health and growth of the office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Focused on accounting functions
Work collaboratively with the Managing Partner or Managing Director to:
Account for the accuracy of the accounting records of the offi
Oversee vendor relationships and payroll activities for
Process financial representative commissions and allo
Administer office staff benefit plans such as medical, retirement, cafeteria plans, et Maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the office.
Monitor banking activities of the offi
Work with outside accountant in the preparation and filing of the annual federal and state tax return
Educate new financial representatives on their compensation is paid through commissions, fees, and bonu
Focused on the financial health of the office
Work collaboratively with the Managing Partner or Managing Director to:
Monitor financial representative indebtedness and process collection procedures as necessary. Forecast and prepare budgets for the office operation
Regularly meet with leadership to analyze financial statements in comparison to budget projections and recommend adjustments and corrective action.
Monitor and maximize cash flow on home office reimbursement plan
Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have:
5 or more years of experience in accounting, including financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, annual tax filings, payroll, and benefits administration.
Bachelor?s Degree in accounting.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office
