Staff Accountant Job Opening in Plantation, Florida - Boutique style PEO is seeking a Staff Accountant with 3 to 5 years experience to join our team in Plantation, Florida. The Staff Accountant works closely with the Finance Team and other members of senior management to provide exceptional service to our client base.
Payroll Tax Responsibilities
Enter all ACH/On-Line federal, state and local tax payments into general ledger.
Obtain federal, state and local tax liability reports from HR system.
Maintain federal, state and local tax liability subsidiary ledgers.
Import federal, state and local tax liability reports into MasterTax.
Maintain SUTA tax rate tables in Payroll system.
Accounts Payable Responsibilities
Process, enter and issue payment for operating vendor invoices.
Process, enter and issue payment for benefit/insurance carrier invoices.
Process, enter and issue payment for workers compensation carrier invoices.
Process, enter and issue payment for AMEX (Done once a Month).
Maintain accounts payable vendor files.
Obtain and maintain Form W-9?s files for vendors.
Other Accounting Responsibilities
Process, enter and issue payment for payroll garnishments.
Enter COBRA premium invoices into general ledger
Audit certain new employee/hire data for completeness and accuracy (Done once a Month).
Submit Multiple Work Site Employee data to 3 states (Done once a Quarter).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Accounting.
College Degree
Above average working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (i.e. Pivot Tables, Sum Ifs).
Average working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word.
Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and communication (Oral & Written) skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Bi-lingual English and Spanish preferred.
