Director of Software Development Job Opening in Scottsdale, Arizona - Tecademics is the industry-leading internet marketing education company. We empower individuals with the most up-to-date information about internet marketing, including ecommerce strategies, paid internet advertising, such as Facebook Ads and YouTube advertising, and search engine optimization.
We're a great team of about 50 people growing at a rapid pace. We?re looking for an amazingly talented individual to join our team as Director of Software Development.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Director of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for advancing and maintaining a healthy engineering team, ensuring that we?re building a great team that provides solutions and reliably executes on a streamlined and transparent delivery process.
In close collaboration with our COO and VP of Business Process, you will be advancing improvements in our engineering practices and our development processes. You?ll guide strategic and tactical technology choices and ensure consistent delivery of value to our customers, both internal and external. While your job will not entail coding, you must have the background and proficiency in MVC to understand and guide the development of our business critical systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Nurture, coordinate and evolve our outstanding engineering team
Source and recruit engineers
Grow a culture of value delivery through successful software projects
Raise capabilities in the engineering team, including developing coding, testing and deployment protocols and best practices
Maintain relationships and transparency with key stakeholders (CEO, COO, Sales, Support, Customers and Affiliates)
Participate in strategic Product and Sales discussions, and align the Engineering Team with the vision and goals of the Company
REQUIREMENTS
Very familiar with principles and deployment of technologies, including MVC.
Deep, proven engineering background that allows you to establish credibility with brilliant engineers quickly.
Superb English communication skills, verbal and written.
Experience working effectively with offshore resources.
Proven experience managing technical teams, setting goals and crafting plans to achieve them.
Ability to provide managerial and technical guidance to the team, both individually and as a group.
Experience in troubleshooting the software delivery process, particularly the collaboration with product development and continuously streamlining it.
Great experience working with engineering teams to identify and anticipate changing requirements and opportunities to improve the development environment.
Experience collaborating with other functions of the company like Operations, Sales, and Marketing.
Experience recruiting and hiring engineering talent and facilitating the onboarding of new team members.
Strong communication skills and great at working through complex, conflictual situations to bring clarity and resolution.
