Manual QA Engineer - Bolingbrook (70K) Job Opening in Bolingbrook, Illinois - Manual QA Specialist - Permanent - Local Search - No relocation or sponsorship
In this position you will be responsible for designing and executing manual test scenarios to ensure that deliverables meet business requirements and software quality goals. You will also actively participate in development planning meetings, requirements gathering, prepare and execute test scenarios for each phase of the software life cycle, document results, report deficiencies and track code defects to closure. In addition, you will work assist with test planning, test process, work actively with software developers and other QA staff.
Requirements:
3-5 years working in a test engineer role, preferably testing web based applications
Proficient in developing test plans and scenarios (primarily in manual testing)
Experience using MTM Microsoft Test Manager, QTP, Quality Center or others
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Basic understanding and/or experience with SQL/Oracle databases (queries, etc)
Solid understanding of software development life cycle, development methodologies and testing techniques
Skilled in reviewing technical specifications, business requirements and similar documents to assess required test coverage
General technical background, (example: familiar with ?terms? such as TCP/IP, FTP, SSL)
Firm skill in working with MS Office suite or similar desktop applications
Working knowledge of Windows and Web-based applications
Proven ability to work both in a team environment and independently
Ability to stay focused, manage time wisely and change gears quickly to meet changing business needs
Experience with Visual Studio, WCF, SOAP UI, or any data warehouse testing is a PLUS
