Senior DBA Job Opening in Georgetown, Kentucky - Position Summary: This individual is responsible for designing, installing, monitoring, maintaining, and performance tuning production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. He/she is also responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software.
Initial focus will be on database administration, particularly in making sure all production databases are up and running 24x7, and making sure all databases are backed up properly.
Position Responsibilities:
As a DBA:
Ensure all production databases are up and running 24x7.
Ensure all data assets are protected by designing and implementing the appropriate backup and restore strategy.
Monitor database performance, including stored procedures and queries? execution times, and implement efficiency improvements.
Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
Monitor and optimize the physical data storage for database systems.
Perform data archiving.
Plan, coordinate and implement database migrations.
Perform database security audits.
Establish appropriate database access control levels.
Configure SQL Server for optimal performance.
Work in designing the database hardware to achieve high levels of performance, scalability, and availability.
Be familiar with SQL HADR technologies; including failover clustering and always-on availability groups.
Design and implement disaster recovery strategy.
Provide guidance to other members of the team.

Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent

3-5 years of experience in Information Technology working in a software development or DBA capacity.

Hands-on database development, tuning, and troubleshooting experience.
3-5 years of experience in the following technical areas:

Web Development, N-tier Development
OOP
Microsoft SQL Server
