BSA Officer Job Opening in Albuquerque, New mexico - Summary:
The Bank Secrecy Officer is responsible for developing, implementing and administering all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Program. This position performs various quality control reviews and monitoring in the area of Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC and Customer Identification Program compliance using industry standards and regulatory guidance sampling methods to ensure the Bank?s compliance efforts are maintained on a daily basis. Advises the Compliance Consultant, Senior Management and Bank Personnel of emerging compliance issues and consults and guides the Bank in the establishment of controls to mitigate risks. Overseeing all aspects of the Corporate-wide Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) programs.
Job Duties:
Coordinating and assisting in the administration of independent, state and federal regulator and auditor examinations and reviews.
Maintain proficient knowledge of the rules and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA Patriot Act and OFAC.
Works to investigate transactions that are suspicious in nature, including : Lending Activity, ACH Activity, Wire Activity, Deposit Operations Transaction Activity, and Monetary Instrument Activity, The reviews will include both domestic and international transactions.
Submits Suspicious Activity Reports for BSA-AML related activities.
Provides reports to the Bank?s Board of Directors.
Train bank staff with regard to BSA/OFAC regulatory requirements.
Performs routine monitoring to determine the extent of compliance with regulations, laws, policies and procedures. Communicates the results of monitoring to department managers and senior management, follow-up to ensure issues are addressed, escalates issues as needed.
Develop and maintain BSA related policies and procedures.

Experience:
Bachelor?s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Law or Business
3 to 5 years? experience with managing BSA compliance regulatory projects or working in an investment banking environment or other financial management position.
Preferred but not required:
BSA/AML Certification
