Systems Engineer Job Opening in Falls Church, Virginia - Position: Systems Engineer (Senior)

Primary Job Duties
The candidate will be responsible for the following:
Designing the approach for an optimized total systems engineering approach.
Monitoring and Supporting of System Engineering activities such as:
Reviewing, Constructing, and maintaining related documentation such as System Requirements documents.
Developing system modification and upgrade concepts and requirements
Ensuring that policies and procedures are followed at all times
Performing system and equipment analysis in order to assess reliability, availability, maintainability and logistical supportability.
Ability to perform simulation, software testing , and other software development activities for sub systems that resides within the operations and planning centers.
Developing Systems Engineering Plan (SEP) as directed by the customer
Creating Interface Control Documentation (ICD ) for interoperability design and assessment.
Developing Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP)
Performing System Requirement Review (SRR)
Supporting Preliminary Design Review (PDR) , Critical Design Reviews (CDR) and Technical Reviews (TRs)
Conduct Production Readiness Reviews (PRR) in order to evaluate technical and programmatic material provided in conjunction with the PRR.
Day to Day Support Activities:
Support planning, analysis, design, development, testing, integration and installation activities
Development and review of operational and technical systems specifications and requirements
Design of High Availability (HA) infrastructure, applications, and configurations in a multi-tier network environment.
Develop and maintain system architecture models and technical documentations
Analyze engineering plans
Prepare technical documentation on engineering issues
Conduct operational planning for engineering activities
Provide firewall design recommendations in a HA database architecture with Oracle RAC Cluster and Microsoft SQL Clusters
Required Experience:
Experience with Web Server?s such as WebSphere Application Serves, Websphere Commerce Server, JAVA, Apache, Tomcat, IIS
Ability to create Data Warehouse and Data Mart design and engineering
Conversant with designing and implementing of application backup strategies
Conversant with designing and implementing data access controls and security configurations
Familiarity with Business Objects, SAS, Informatica, Serena, ColdFusion and IBM Data Loader
Hands on Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and IBM DB2 enterprise databases
Resent hands on virtualization experience (vMware, IBM Power VM, Solaris Virtual Domain)
Very Strong Written and oral Presentation skills
