Senior Java Developer ? Designing/Developing Migration Tools Job Opening in Overland Park, Kansas - Convergenz is hiring a Sr. Java Developer for a contract position in Overland Park. KS. The selected Sr. Developer will develop a client facing tool for the purposes of helping collect client data for migration projects which is currently done via Microsoft Excel. This person will design the work and code the data migration mapping tool using Java.
The Senior Developer is responsible for the design and quality of the components, applications, solution and for the system. As you will also be the Architect on this assignment, will ensure design reviews and code reviews are completed; and you must have a thorough understanding of requirements and a deep understanding of software engineering domains.
Additional responsibilities include:
Collaborate with Solution Management to develop functional work flows and business rules
Creates high level technical design for use by Software Engineers
Understand technology and industry standards. Bring with them innovative ideas and applies them to add value
Participates in review meetings as necessary, requirements, design, code and rest case
Provides mentoring for other team members
Follows the defined process
Takes appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of role
Experience required:
Java, Web Services Development Background, and front-end GUI experience. Experience working with the back and front end of applications
Experience, working with various systems and environments: These systems run on IBM pSeries (AIX) servers, uses COBOL, C, and Java programming languages and a flat file ISAM database
