Director of Estimating Job Opening in Honolulu, Hawaii - About the Company:
International commercial developer building 5-star luxury resorts and residential communities in Hawaii, Asia Pacific, and the US. This role is based in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Job Summary:
The Director of Estimating will setup monitor project cost control, review cost estimating, cost analysis/control and scheduling activities for a 5-star luxury hotel. Identifies, analyzes, and provides innovative solutions to cost control challenges.
Duties and Responsibilities
Setup monitor project cost control, manage project cost control procedures;
Coordinate and develop appropriate control budgets consistent with project estimate and work breakdown structure (WBS) / cost breakdown structure (CBS)
Implement and monitor costs within each project stage for entire project until completion or close-out
Review cost data, cost-control worksheets and reports
Review initial budget, change order, monitor on-going budget
Preparation of cost risk analysis
Review invoice payments, purchase orders and acquire approval from Assistant President
Attend project meetings and discussions with the PM and GC and supplier
Analyze requirements of a project for achieving the essential functions at the lowest total costs (capital, energy, maintenance) over the life of the project
Work closely with construction department and design department
Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as required
Job Requirements:
Bi-lingual English and Mandarin (Speaking, reading, writing)
5-star hotel experience
Knowledge in MEP estimating software
Degree in Engineering with specialization in Project Management or Cost Control related training
Minimum 15 years relevant experience in project estimating and cost controlling preferably in luxury hotel or residential developments.
Have experience in construction, design, and cost control
Strong analytical and problem solving and value engineering
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, demanding environment
