Senior Estimating Manager Job Opening in Honolulu, Hawaii - About the Company:
International commercial developer building 5-star luxury resorts and residential communities in Hawaii, Asia Pacific, and the US. This role is based in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Job Summary:
The Senior Manager of Estimating is responsible for cost estimating, cost analysis/control and scheduling activities for a 5-star luxury hotel. Identifies, analyzes, and provides innovative solutions to cost engineering and planning/scheduling challenges.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up monitor project cost control, manage project cost control procedures
Coordinate development and implementation of project work breakdown structure (WBS) / cost breakdown structure (CBS) in conjunction with Construction Director and PM Consultant
Coordinate and develop appropriate control budgets consistent with project estimate and WBS / CBS
Implement and monitor costs within each project stage and for the entire project until completion or close-out
Collect and compile progress and cost data, and develop cost-control worksheets and reports for review by Cost Control Director
Review contractor progress design and change order design
Review CM initial budget, monitor on-going budget
Coordinate or develop appropriate internal and external benchmark
Coordinate preparation of cost risk analysis
Review invoice payments, purchase orders and acquire approval from Cost Control Director
Attend project meetings and discussions with the PM and GC and supplier as needed
Perform project costing related reporting, and provide cost control advice to Cost Control Director and management to ensure that expenditures are kept within the project budget
Analyzes the requirements of a project for achieving the essential functions at the lowest total costs (capital, energy, maintenance) over the life of the project
Undertake ad-hoc duties as required
Job Requirements: Education and Qualification
Bilingual in English and Mandarin (speaking, reading, writing)
5-Star hotel experience
Knowledge in MEP Estimating software
Degree in Engineering with specialization in Project Management or Cost Control related training
Minimum 10 years relevant experience in project estimating and cost controls preferably in luxury hospitality or residential developments. Minimum overseeing 1 project from beginning to close out.
Strong technical skills in project cost scheduling and reporting
Knowledge of scheduling software
Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, demanding environment
