Position Wanted: Sales Manager
Position Summary:
The Sales Manager creates revenue for the Riverwalk Plaza Hotel by generating and/or developing new, referred, and repeat group business. Overseeing the events to ensure guest satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities:
The Event Sales Manager is responsible for selling and servicing events.
Primary sales efforts are in Banquet Food and Beverage and includes menu planning, agenda setting and hotel meeting services.
Contract review and facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of service
Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to all departments in the hotel to ensure high quality of service to customers.
Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings
Job Qualification:
Caring and attentive associates who are focused on providing efficient service and meaningful experiences.
The Event Sales Manager also host hotel tours, maintain strong customer relationships, participate and may lead event meetings and/or other staff meetings, and work as a team member with the sales and events staff.
The manager also works closely with the accounting department and front desk staff.
Able to work flexible shifts.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
Bachelors degree preferred.
5+ years of past sales experience preferred.
Advanced knowledge of market trends, competition and key customers of the hotel.
Must have experience in group sales at a similar size and quality hotel.
Must have experience in business travel at a similar size and quality hotel.
Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi.
Advanced knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, motivation of peers, and knowledge of hotel operations.
Extremely detail oriented and organized
