Database Analyst Senior Job Opening in Indianapolis, Indiana - Under the supervision of the designated supervisor and as a member of the Operations Support team, incumbent provides advanced technical support for databases and systems supporting DOR's applications.
Also, works to ensure the highest level of customer focus, with a strong commitment to the taxpayers of Indiana through continuous, innovative methods to increase accuracy, efficiency and productivity in all areas of departmental operations and tax administration.

Responsibilities :
Design and implement large logical and physical Oracle databases, of a complex nature, in Unix/Linux/AIX environment.
Determine aggregation, partitioning, and indexing strategies for Oracle physical data.
Monitor and tune database performance.
Administer end-user access and security access.
Ensure that data is appropriately protected via database backup and related strategies.
Load and configure process database software and application fixes.
Install, maintain and customize Oracle Application Development Tools used to development information systems.
Evaluate and select infrastructure components.
Design, modify and create utilities, Windows batch, Unix and SQL custom scripts used for Oracle system maintenance, monitoring, and DASD management for tables and indexes.
Provide operational support for the database, ensuring data integrity, database availability and performance.
Provide overall monitoring of the standards, procedures and integration of systems, through database design.
Consult with and make recommendations to Information Technology Management, Application Software Development and Systems Technical staff to define information processing requirements, evaluate technology needs and formulate solutions.
Confer with Oracle Database technical support vendors to successfully communicate database problem and questions.
Evaluate technology and products to determine the feasibility of adding to agency architecture, as it relates to database administration.
Install, maintain and customize 3rd party products, (Spectrum, Verimove, COBOL, Java) used to support information system.
Maintain Returns Processing System (RPS) system architecture including; FMW Forms and reports server, Reporting, Batch and Printing, and Oracle Weblogic administration
Establish written procedures, standards and documentation.
Develop work plans for assigned projects and supervises their execution.
Assist, direct, train and review work of less experienced staff.
Identify, explore and recommend potential strategies for long-term planning implementation.
Work with and provide guidance to information systems application software development staff for maximum computer utilization.
Serve as project lead for database projects.
Provide technical assistance to other database analyst staff.
Work closely with management, technical and application software development staff to ensure successful project implementation.
Resolve system issues through thorough problem analysis.
Coordinate and direct multiple projects that are at various stages.
Prepare project feasibility studies, compute time and cost estimates, human resources and equipment requirements, as it relates to database administration.
Complete assigned training and other tasks as assigned by management.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Member of the on-call, rotational support staff.
Preferred Experience:
Seven (7) years? work experience in Software Development, Maintenance, or Implementation or accredited college training in a related field.
Hands-on management of single node and RAC Oracle 11g/12c databases
UNIX/Linux operating systems (AIX, RedHat etc.)
Database Tuning: SQL & PL/SQL with excellent understanding of Oracle Cost based optimizer
Working knowledge of Oracle Golden Gate
Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c/13c ?Grid/Cloud control
Experience with Bash/Shell scripting
Strong knowledge of Oracle Forms & Reports, Weblogic, OID
ITIL understanding and experience
