Title: Senior Accountant
Major Purpose:
We need a Senior Accountant to join our finance department and take over the major reporting and reconciliation duties for our company. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for heading the finance department and reporting directly to the VP of Finance and Management Control. We need a professional with inherent leadership qualities and the attention to detail necessary to ensure accurate reporting in all areas. Be an advocate for Choice Genetics, policies, and procedures.
Detailed Descriptions :
Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department.
Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the VP of Finance attention.
Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
Coordinate semi-annual audits and assist VP of Finance with conducting audits.
Conduct regular ledger maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Requirements
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting required.
5+ years? experience in general accounting.
Advanced knowledge of Excel.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment.
Familiarity with Sage MAS 100.
Background in Agriculture, specifically swine is preferred but not required.
Authority
He/She reports directly to the VP of Finance and Management Control.

Salary position
Normally Monday through Friday; 7:30 ? 4:30.
