PHP Developer Job Opening in Wakarusa, Indiana - AgSync has many projects and we need help. We are looking for a software developer to join our team of developers working on technology in the agriculture industry. In addition to having a passion for creating software, you must also be able to troubleshoot bugs and fix them effectively. We work in the cloud and are a mixed Windows and Linux shop. We are passionate about minimizing our time working on servers but this doesn?t mean you won?t have to remote in to a server occasionally. Because our process and commitment to do things right, our on-call responsibilities are very light.
Some projects that we've recently completed or are working on:
Integrating with partners to sync data
Adding industry leading features
Adopting OpenID Connect
Technologies you?ll work with:
PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
PostgreSQL, Redis, Puppet, RabbitMQ
Ubuntu and Debian
What you?ll do:
Maintain the AgSync websites
Take on new features from inception to deployment
Help us handle site traffic and fix load issues
Participate in daily standup meetings
Design and develop user interfaces
What you?ll need to have:
Expertise in PHP and JavaScript programming
Experience working in Linux environments
Knowledge of object oriented programming
The ability to take on challenges and delivering thorough, stable, and maintainable software
Non-Technical skills we expect:
Getting projects done in a timely manner
Works well in a team
Document as you go, not at the end of a project
Not required, but would be considered a plus:
Experience with a configuration management system (we use Puppet)
Experience with cloud computing (we use Azure)
A background or interest in GIS, Spatial Analysis, or Agriculture.
Additional bonus for public speaking, blogging, or open source contributions.
