Essential Functions :
Independently identifies investment opportunities in accordance with group investment principles, portfolio goals, and guidelines from both the primary and secondary markets.
Formulates and communicates investment rationales, both orally and in writing.
Contributes to the achievement of return, volatility, and other investment goals.
Responds to portfolio management requests for information, analysis and opinion.
Maintains documentation supporting investment recommendations.
Monitors market and economic conditions, corporate, industry and sector trends, as well as the primary and secondary fixed income markets.
Monitors and evaluates macro-economic and regulatory conditions.
Develops and maintains professional relationship with brokers, sell-side analysts, company contacts and other vendors.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with trade execution as needed.
Applies team?s investment process.
Participates in fixed income meetings.
Supports the rest of the fixed income team as well as the equity investment teams.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Complies with all applicable agency policies and procedures, including safety and standards of conduct
Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.
Complies with ethics standards and restrictions on personal investment activities set forth in ERS investment policy.
Required Minimum Qualifications : Your application for employment must reflect how you meet each of the following minimum qualifications:
1. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics and/or accounting.
2. Five and one half (5 ½) years of directly related work experience in high yield fixed income or equity security analysis and selection. Each level of the CFA program successfully completed may be substituted for six months of required experience. Master?s degree in business, finance, economics and/or accounting may substitute for one year of work experience.
3. Experience using Bloomberg.
4. Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other business productivity tools.

6. Current participation in Chartered Financial Analyst program or CFA designation.
