We offer comprehensive legal services to clients in the areas of Insurance Litigation and Coverage, Products Liability and Mass Torts, Labor and Employment, Commercial Litigation, Professional Liability, and Appellate. The Houston office has an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, hands-on individual with a solid foundation in human resources and general office administration. The successful candidate will have a naturally open work style, be driven to participate as a supportive team member and be able to exercise discretion, good judgment, tact, and poise in handling sensitive and confidential information
The Office Administrator, reporting to both the Administrative Partner of the Houston office and the Firm?s COO, has primary responsibility for ensuring that the needs of our clients, lawyers and staff are met. This individual works closely with all levels of Firm leadership to ensure compliance with Firm policies and best practices and leads change on behalf of the Firm at the office level. Responsibilities include:
Human Resources
Overseeing all aspects of HR including recruiting, onboarding, training and development, , workload management, and morale building events for the office. This person will also liaise with the corporate office regarding employee benefits and payroll issues for the local office.
Office Administration
Works with COO and Office Administrative Partner on space requirements for the office, evaluates and projects space needs, and oversees the management of office build-outs and expansions. Develops and maintains business continuity and emergency preparedness plans, and acts as the crisis leader for the Houston office. Responsible for working with vendors regarding services, facilities management, maintenance, etc. and oversees the processing of vendor invoices through the corporate accounting department.
Candidate Qualifications
Ability to work in a cooperative and positive manner with all coworkers, clients, attorneys, staff, vendors, and building management, observing confidentiality in all matters relating to the Firm
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills
Must be a proactive, self-starter, and independent thinker who is able to consistently meet deadlines while managing multiple projects with competing priorities
Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must have a minimum of 5 years proven experience in office management/human resources, or commensurate experience with the above responsibilities
Undergraduate degree preferred, law firm experience a plus
