Clinical Research Coordinator Job Opening in Chattanooga, Tennessee - University Diabetes & Endocrine Consultants Clinical research improves understanding of diabetes and metabolic disorders. Our research takes two forms; original research involving advanced technology for diabetes management, and new ways to use existing medications to better manage diabetes mellitus; we also participate in multicenter studies of diabetes treatments which reflect the therapeutic goals of our patients with diabetes mellitus, and which provide diabetes care, medicine and supplies so that patients can more easily care for their diabetes despite today's healthcare crisis while being a part of tomorrow's diabetes care.
Position Responsibilities and Expectations
Screen, recruit and enroll patients/research participants.
Maintain/create source documentation for all data submitted.
Maintain screening logs, enrollment logs, subject ID logs, etc.
Communicate with staff regularly and provide feedback.
Ensure compliance with protocol guidelines.
Obtain samples (blood, urine) and other specimens for laboratory.
Preform specimen processing and shipment of biological specimen duties.
Coordinate monitor visits.
Informed consent process.
Complete all training and study modules assigned per study in a timely manner.
Requirements
Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and able to identify problems and solve them.
Must be able to handle confidential information and meet objectives in compliance with all legal, regulatory, and protocol guidelines.
Must be comfortable with performing patient care (blood draws, vital signs, performing ECGs, processing specimens).
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Some travel required.
Required Education & Experience
Nursing License, Medical Assistant Certification or similar certification.
Working knowledge of research methodology/medical terminology.
Diabetes knowledge.
Preferred
CCRC certification
