Position Overview
As the Payroll /Billing Specialist, you will work with a team that is responsible for employee payroll and customer billing. This is a busy and high volume environment that requires high attention to detail and strong analytical skills. In addition, you must have superior communication skills and the ability to deal with both our customers and our team members in a positive, helpful and friendly manner.
Position Primary Areas of Responsibility
Payroll
Pays employees by calculating pay and deductions; issuing checks
Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and the like
Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security
Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests
Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
Billing
Bills customers by matching timesheets and backup documentation for invoices
Issues credit/debit memos through system to correct errors in either payroll, billing or both
Correction of original invoice to resend to clients
Correctly interpret client contracts for paying and billing for different types of pay
Position Requirements
Minimum HS Diploma required
Must have 2+ years of accounting experience in payroll and billing
Must be analytical and detailed oriented with the ability to multi-task
Solid computer skills with Excel Spreadsheet skills
Good 10 key skills a must
Solid understanding of payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, VOEs
Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to different scenarios and deal with multiple types of personalities / office climates
Position
Salary $30-33K, depending on experience
