Cost Analyst Job Opening in Hopkins, Minnesota - The Cost Analyst will perform various tasks including business analysis, margin reviews, activity-based accounting (determine where costs are going), divisional P&L, and cycle count administration.
Responsibilities include:
- Determine costs of raw material purchases, inventory and manufacturing processes
- Review and analyze product margins for all customers
- Analyze changes in raw materials and manufacturing processes provided to determine effects on cost and pricing
- Prepare reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
- Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures
- Conduct market research and make recommendations regarding pricing policies
- Provide reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services
- Interface with all levels of management internally to gather data: product managers, warehouse team, etc.
- Forecast pricing, expenditures, and profitability for new and existing product lines and parts
- Analyze product line and part profitability - make estimates of new and proposed product costs
- Create and analyze reports for month-end analysis, product line profitability, weekly order, inventory outlook, sales reporting graphs, etc.
The candidate must have:
- 5+ years of cost accounting/analysis background
- Experience working with P&L
- Manufacturing Industry Experience
- Microsoft Excel abilities: Pivot Tables and formulas
