Job purpose
The Desktop Technician's role is to provide a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organization's desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via email) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required.
Duties and responsibilities:
Understand client needs and maintain and develop customer relations;
Work with users\customers on problem resolution;
Communicate with customer on problem determination and resolution;
Escalate problems to senior level staff when problem cannot be resolved at the desktop technician level;
Stay current with technology trends and technical certifications (A+, Microsoft Certification, Vendor certification)
Qualifications:
A+
MCSE Desktop Infrastructure
Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot desktop issues
Display good oral and written communication skills
Maintain a good rapport with customers and peers
Requirements:
Active Directory
2003-2010 Exchange Server
Windows Server Experience
Networking Experience is a plus
Customer Service Skills are a must.
