Software Engineer Job Opening in seattle, Washington - Software Engineer Are you a DIYer or maker who is passionate about what you do? Do you want to help build online tools that make your projects easier to share? Interested in guiding the shape of these tools to do what you need? If so, then we?re the place for you. MakerHub is building tools to make the lives of makers easier and to help lower the barrier to entry for new DIYers. We?re also testing ways to help makers to earn income for what they love doing. We are in the process of growing our MakerHub team and are looking for: Software Engineers We?re looking for four software engineers with Ruby on Rails & Amazon Web Services experience to add new features to an existing site and to integrate deliverables from others into the site. You may also be required to set up support services (e.g. Hudson) and create the various integration and production website installations using services such as Heroku, Amazon?s EC2, or RightScale. Requirements: * College graduate or equivalent experience * Proven track record for working well independently and being a self-starter * Excited about working for a seed stage start up company * Able to gather requirements for minimally defined projects * Working knowledge of multiple programming languages and web app platforms * Advanced Ruby on Rails skills * Experience with Amazon?s AWS: EC2, S3, SDB, and others * Experience with Amazon?s marketplace APIs * A strong bias toward building simple, sustainable, extensible code * Practical experience with software engineering best practices, refactoring existing code, and a strong desire to create quality solutions and designs. * Able to work remotely part time For more information, visit http: seattle wa washington
