Accounting Associate Job Opening in Atlanta, Georgia - The Accounting Assistant will support the Accounting Division of a fast growing full service real estate company that consist of several wholly owned subsidiary companies that focus on investment, property management, and development of multifamily housing. The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for the coordination of activities (operations and planning) and ensuring the timely flow of information. The ideal candidate will handle details of a highly confidential and critical nature, and must function efficiently and effectively in a professional environment. The Accounting Assistant will have a proven ability to independently manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines. Must be able to screen and prioritize communications and opportunities from external and internal sources. Ability to organize and maintain administrative processes is essential to this position. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, high-energy, organized, and able to work in a fast paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Sr. Project Accountant with property tax administrative duties.
Manage the company purchase card program. This includes ordering purchase cards, credit limits and reconciling monthly purchase card expense reports.
Responsible for reviewing corporate employee expense reports each month.
Assist with external audit requests on a quarterly/annual basis.
Manage quarterly/annual lender reporting requirements.
Responsible for making daily/weekly bank deposits.
Other cash management responsibilities as assigned.
Department administrative duties to include faxing, scanning, copying, reviewing internal/external mail, drafting written and email correspondences, filing, typing, etc.
Ability to anticipate the needs of the division and proactively bring together appropriate people and resources.
Assist the Property Accountants with the annual audit package mailings.
Manage the calendar of the Director of Accounting, will schedule appointments and meetings or changing schedules when necessary.
Create and maintain file system for the Director of Accounting.
Manage effective contacts and relationships with multiple individuals including Property Managers, Regionals, Bank Administrators, and Executive Mgmt.
Other administrative duties as needed to support the Director of Accounting.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and deal with frequent changes or unexpected events.
PC proficiency with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Adobe necessary. Knowledge of Great Plains accounting software a plus.*

Maintains confidentiality in all areas and adheres to the highest of professional and ethical behavior in all activities.
At least 5 years of experience in a business department*
