Software Engineer Job Opening in Washington, District of columbia - Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The software developer in this role will work closely with a highly technical team supporting software and simulation development for naval weapon and sensor systems. Position includes code development for real-time simulation of large, complex weapon systems including EO/IR Sensors, RF/Radar Sensors, EW applications, missiles & interceptors, and command and control. Candidate will use expertise or ability in developing, integrating, and maintaining software for M&S applications. Simulations developed will often be multi-threaded applications in a Linux environment. Candidates will get to work the full software life cycle, including programming, man-machine interface development for virtual simulations, testing, documentation and integrating.
Basic Qualifications
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineer (or similar) and 8+ years of experience developing software products, or a Master's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineer (or similar) and 6+ years of experience developing software products.
Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of UML or SysML. Candidate should have proficiency in the formal documentation of software products and in the use of software version control and issue tracking tools.
Candidate must possess extensive development experience in one or more of the following: C/C++, , Python or Qt.
Other Qualifications
Preferred candidate will have experience developing multi-threaded applications in a Linux environment.
Ideally, candidates will have development experience with inter-process communications using HLA, TENA, DIS, UDP, and/or TCP/IP.
Experience with real-time programming and the Agile scrum process is a plus.
Security Requirements
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance. Candidates with current Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance with SCI eligibility are preferred.
