Project Coordinator (Quality Improvement, Healthcare) Job Opening in Monterey Park, California - The Quality Improvement Project Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Quality Improvement Programs and will be responsible for coordinating and co-managing projects related to Quality Improvement initiatives. The Project Coordinator will also manage small to medium-scale projects, initiating projects through the completion of project charters and plans, promoting active communication and participation between all stakeholders and ensure project completion is done in a thorough and timely manner.
Project responsibilities will include:
Developing and updating Medical Management Sharepoint sites
Assisting in the management of the library of authorization letter templates and reports in collaboration with the Medical Services and Clinical Services department
Ensure compliance with federal, state and health plan requirements
Assisting in the completion of annual Standards of Excellent surveys and engaging in year-long activities to ensure achievement of the Elite status for SynerMed groups
Participating as a project team member, as requested by AVP Clinical Services, QI Director or other executive
Liaise with project stakeholders to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives
Assist with the development of project activities aimed at meeting project goals within set timeframes
Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise, or refer the issues to the stakeholders and project members for next steps.
Act as point of contact to communicate project status to all participants
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance tests, when appropriate
Requires:
2 years of experience with project management in the health care arena, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of managed care philosophy, including basic HMO policies and procedures, plus advanced knowledge of the managed care industry
Strong verbal and written communication, with ability to use various databases and systems, including MS Office
Ability to interface with employees and departments within the organization, at all levels
Good organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage several tasks and responsibilities simultaneously
Understand compliance regulations and requirements for federal, state and other governing bodies, pertaining to health plans
Medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding is a plus
Bachelor's Degree
