Front End Developer

Phoenix, Arizona

Front End Developer Job Opening in Phoenix, Arizona - You can have a beautiful design and a user-friendly concept, but none of that matters without the right code. The code is where the magic happens; it creates the user experience, marrying functional and emotional triggers to deliver a pitch-perfect presentation. More importantly, the code drives the user to the intended action. So, who?s this magic-maker, this writer of code, this crafter of user experience? Why, the front-end developer, of course.
But it takes a pretty special developer to join the ranks of our creative team. We?re looking for a magician with mad design chops, speedy coding skills, and a marketer?s mindset?someone who?s creative, collaborative, and ready for a challenge. Sound like you? Then grab your top hat, wand, and white rabbit, and let?s make some magic.
At WebPT, we hire the most talented people for our teams, and then give them the freedom to do their jobs. Here, we work hard?but we have lots of fun doing it. So, if you like a cool, collaborative, and challenging work environment, you?ll fit right in.
As the leader in our market and one of the fastest-growing companies in the country, we?ve already done a lot. But we?re nowhere near done. Our plans just keep getting grander, and we can?t achieve greatness without you.
Responsibilities
Bring UX and UI designs to life within our applications and web properties.
Write code that?s clean, W3C-valid, accessible, cross-browser compatible, responsive, and readable?all without the use of a WYSIWYG.
Provide website maintenance and enhancements.
Create quality mockups and prototypes on tight timelines.
Work with back-end developers to code and troubleshoot.
Create cascading style sheets (CSS) that are consistent across all browsers and platforms.
Maintain graphic standards and branding throughout all properties and projects.
Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies, and promote usability best practices.
Provide expertise and demonstrate initiative while maintaining technical direction throughout discovery, planning, and implementation stages.
Troubleshoot and resolve user-reported issues, problems, and errors encountered across our web properties, internal applications, and systems.
Throw business casual to the wind. We want casual-casual. Rock flip flops and jeans. We don?t care as long as you do good work and enjoy yourself.
Get ready to fly by the seat of your pants. This role is ever-evolving?just like our team and strategies?so while you don?t need to be Cirque du Soleil flexible, we may occasionally ask you to do a few backbends or at least try some things outside of your wheelhouse.
Abilities and Knowledge
Be creative, conceptual, and imaginative.
Know how to create rock solid work under deadline and within budget.
Rock the mic like a vandal?not just in karaoke, but in all forms of communication (i.e., talk well and write good stuff). We?re talking solid communication skills. You?re representing the WebPT brand, and we take our voice and image seriously.
Be cool under pressure. Things can get pretty hectic at times, so we want to make sure you keep calm and carry on through even the most stressful of circumstances.
Be scratchy?as in write code from scratch?and do it well. In fact, love to do it. You think WYSIWYG is cool and all, but coding from scratch is your bread and butter.
Enjoy a good challenge and?like the contestants on the Amazing Race?play to win the million dollars (except on our team, the million dollars are happy customers).
Love to laugh. If you take yourself too seriously, then avert your eyes from this description now.
Know how to roll up your sleeves. We have a lot of brass tacks here, and we like to get down to ?em.
Play really nice with others. We?re a tight-knit, highly collaborative team (i.e., we?re friends first).
Juggle many complex projects, all with strict deadlines, simultaneously. Bonus points if you can actually juggle like a real circus performer.
Be hungry for knowledge. There?s a lot to learn when it comes to electronic medical records, the basic operations of physical therapy clinics, and the wants and needs of our Member base. We want you to become an expert on these things. That way, you can expertly craft our user experience.
Jibe with our company culture, which is all about energy, integrity, positivity, a hunger for knowledge, and a passion for marketing. Bring all that and a bag of chips. Seriously, we love chips.
