Industrial Sales Representative Job Opening in Reno, Nevada - Western Sierras is a small business that started in 1990. We import our products from Europe for distribution in the United States and Canada. Our first products to the rail industry were carbon brushes. As the rail industry moved from DC to AC propulsion we began to look for other products to move into the same customer base. With our current line up we can supply almost everything from the pole face out, including catenary parts, conductor rail, contact wire and overhead scan services.
Western Sierras main market segments are light rail, commuter rail, and trolley bus. Our main focus within those segments would be catenary overhead systems however, we also supply parts for the vehicles ( contact tips, brush holders, and sliding carbons ) and the track ( _lubricant free roller system for switch points_ ).

SUMMARY:
The sales representative will maintain an emphasis on acquiring and retaining broad based customer relationships.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and functions may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned .
Reaching sales goals as set by management
Develop customer base necessary to meet all sales forecasts and budgets.
Maintain high level of product and vendor knowledge.
Attend trade shows and association meetings as required.
Prospecting for new business, proposals and maintaining existing relationships.
Serves as point of contact for business customers issues
Weekly reporting and updates of sales
Develop potential customer lists using available information.
Negotiate contracts with assigned customers for products and services.
Initiate contracts for products and services with assigned customers.
Monitor established contracts for products and services ensuring customer satisfaction.
Identify logistical requirements for delivery of assigned products and services.
Develop and maintain successful relations with customers.
Arrange technical support of assigned products and services.
Monitor pricing and availability of products and services.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

Ability to write and present effective proposals
Knowledge of sales techniques, market segmentation, and customer account management.
Knowledge of business to business market segments, market behaviors, and value drivers.
Skill in managing a portfolio of products and services.
Skill in communicating technical information to colleagues, customers, vendors, and contractors.
Skill in anticipating customer demands.
Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients.
Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities effectively.
